“My time with [Dr. Kim] was probably the most important years in my life as a violinist.  Ms. Kim taught me how to play the violin.  She very patiently taught me how to make a good sound, how to maneuver the bow, how to practice for good intonation — basically everything there was to learn to be a violinist, I learned it during those years with Ms. Kim. I am so grateful for my time with Ms. Kim, which shaped who I am today, and which still guides me as I play and continue to learn.”

“I look up to Ms. Kim as a musician, educator, performer, and person. Studying with her has been the most eye-opening experience for me. She helped me to grow as a musician with a whole new perspective, and was always encouraging me to strive for more and to challenge myself. Not only is she a problem solver, but she also expands students’ horizons and builds imagination. I was always impressed by her patience and endeavor to help me perfect every note and every measure, and I remember leaving every lesson excited to practice. I am so fortunate to have met her because I truly would not be where I am today had I not.”

“Ms. Kim has been an influential mentor in every step of my musical career starting with my pre-college studies, undergraduate and graduate studies, and most recently my acceptance into the New World Symphony. Her dedication, absolute commitment, and faith in me as a student and violinist is undoubtedly significant in my growth as a passionate and goal driven musician. Ms. Kim got to know me and my playing so astutely during the years I studied with her that I know I can trust her ears to recognize my tendencies and to lead me in new and different directions. I teach now, and I can easily say that I know I am capable at being a great teacher because I am imitating how Ms. Kim has once taught me!”
